Who doesn't love a plush brown bear, especially one that is life-sized? Online stores have such a bear and is very big (7.5 feet long)! You will be in brown bear plush heaven! For those with smaller tastes, stores also carry a range of beautiful plush brown bears that come in other sizes – from large two feet bear to those that are four feet.

The largest brown bears in the world can be found living in the forests and mountains of coastal British Columbia, Alaska, and on islands such as Kodiak (hence the Kodiak bears name). But, brown bears can also be found in Europe, Asia, and other parts of North America. Typically, brown bears are solitary animals with the exception of a mother and her cubs. They do however, gather in Alaska where prime salmon fishing spots can be found when the fish make their way upstream to spawn. During that season, it is not uncommon for dozens of brown bears to gather on the rivers so they can feast on the fish. Eating salmon is especially good for them as they are full of fat which brown bears need to build up for hibernation during the winter. In the fall, it is not uncommon for a brown bear to eat up to 90 pounds of food a day so that when it goes 'away' for the winter months, it weighs twice as much as it did before hibernation began. Luckily, a plush brown bear will not require such large amounts of food, or any food at all for that matter!

Brown bears dig dens for their winter hibernation, usually doing so in a hillside. Females give birth during the winter, usually to two cubs. Cubs nurse on their mother's milk through the winter until spring arrives at which time they will emerge from their den to look for food. Cubs stay with their mother's for at least two and half years which means that females only give birth every three years.
Adult brown bears are considered at the top-of-the-predator food chain despite mostly eating berries, nuts, fruit, leaves, and roots. They will, however, eat other animals – anything from rodents to moose.

Brown bears can weigh as much as 700 pounds but that does not stop them from being extremely fast – they are known to run at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. Despite their ferociousness when threatened, brown bears (like most other bears) look harmless and huggable. Sometimes it's easy to forget that they are wild animals and rarely, if ever want anything to do with humans. That's why a plush brown bear can be such a welcoming treat – if you can't have the real thing, the next best thing is one made of plush fur.
